9 From The Nine Worlds

Hello my fair readers, I am very happy to be back to you! Today, I have really good news, my friend passed me her new book from Rick Riordan so we'll have another book review and mythology lesson, but not necessarily in that order. It's called 9 From the Nine Worlds, it's a collection of stories from the characters of Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard in the nine realms of the Norse mythology. The vikings believed that they lived in a gigantic tree named Yggdrasil, and it supported the structure of the nine worlds. Asgard (the first one at the top) is the home of the Aesir, the gods such as Odin, Thor, Frigg, Heimdall, Loki, Tyr, Baldur, Idun and Bragi. It is also the home of  half of the vikings that had a great death, Einherjar that live in Valhalla waiting for the Ragnarok. Then, at the trunk, there are three realms. First there is Alfheim, home of the light elves, then Midgard, home of the tiny humans (us) and finally Muspellheim, home of the fire giants a

ABC of EDs

In 2002, 1.5% of Canadians women between the age of 15 and 24 had an eating disorder. One third of the girls in grade nine and ten engaged weight-less behaviors. 40% considered themselves too fat. Eating disorders are a real scourge and more girls and boys succumb to the social pressure each year. The more the time goes on the more people are being attacked by the society telling them the way to live their lives. At the dentist the magazine about how a star lost 50 pounds, ads with models as thin as a sheet of paper, but they are so, so pretty, are at least it's what we're told. The perfect family cliché, two loving parents, a mom, a dad and two little beautiful children. White? Of course, why do you even ask? Makeup on every face, every advertising board. Every thing is being gendered and you must fit in that mold the society created or you are being looked at and judged. Every day a girl looks in the mirror and isn't satisfied with what she sees. Not thin enough.

"You Drool In Your Sleep"

Do you get the quote? It comes from the worse transition books to movies, Percy Jackson and the Olympians. You don't even want to get me started about the movies, so we'll talk about the books instead. This saga is written by Rick Riordan or as we call him in the fandom Uncle Rick. Did you know that Riordan means "royal poet" in Irish? He is one of the few old adult authors to really remember what it is to be young. "I have been called sassy. Please. A 48-year-old man cannot be sassy. Cantankerous perhaps. *Shakes cane* Get off my lawn! "  -Rick Riordan- He has written many series, linked between them so we call them the Riordanverse. It all begins with the Percy Jackson and the Olympians, or PJO for short. It this saga, Perseus aka Percy discovers he is the son of the Greek god of the sea Poseidon, that the Olympus is still pretty much important and alive and saves the world thanks to his friends Annabeth Chase, Thalia Grace, Grover, Tyson and many oth

"After all this time? Always."

Since it is the first real post you guys know next to nothing about me. Well, your wishes came true because here I am, telling you one of my darkest secrets: I am a Potterhead. You know how Katy Perry fans are called Kitty Cats? And Justin  Bieber's *trowing up* are called Believers? And One Direction's *trowing up again* are Directioners? Okay I admit that is a bunch of really bad examples but still, you get the concept, when they are fans, there is a name for them. Now you are wondering, "what is a Potterhead?". Don't worry, we are not aliens, we are not a bunch of weed addicts that smoke pot, we are simply a community that loves the universe that the goddess of writing J.K.Rowling created (the real one is Calliope in Greek mythology but that's for another post). Harry Potter is a saga composed of 7 books  (The Cursed Child doesn't count to my eyes) and 8 movies, made with the story of the books but with way less details. The principal character

Getting Things Straight

Hello people reading this newbie. You are probably wondering what this will be about, how frequently I am going to post, etc. The truth is that I don't know. Most likely, there are going to be 1 post every 2 weeks, posts about Scouts, about school, about nothing and everything in fact and  even maybe some fan fictions. Haters gonna hate,  so if you don't like it do both of us a favour and stop reading, there are plenty of other blogs anyway. Peanut😜
